Amadeus adds property management to hotel IT portfolio with acquisition of Itesso

Deal accelerates fully integrated cloud-based Hotel IT platform enabling a single view of the business across hotel groups, brands and properties

ITESSO LogoToday we announced an expansion in our technology offering to the hotel industrywith the acquisition of Itesso BV, a provider of cloud-native property management systems (PMS) based in the Netherlands.

This deal brings Amadeus closer to its vision of bringing together the key components of hotel technology infrastructure – CRS, Property Management, Revenue Management, Sales & Catering and others – into one guest-centric platform that enables hotels and chains of all sizes to have a single view of the guest and a unified view of their business.

At the same time the acquisition marks another step in our path to deliver on our commitment in the hotel IT sector following the acquisition of Newmarket in 2013, and the agreement in April of this year to work with InterContinental Hotel Group to develop a next generation GRS (Guest Reservation System).

As a result of the transaction, all of Itesso’s employees, which number approximately 100, including the management team, are expected to move to Amadeus bringing complementary hospitality and property management expertise built up over 20 years.

Planning for Hospitality Recovery

In partnership with global hospitality organizations HSMAI, IoH, and HOSPA, we developed a series of recovery eBooks to help hospitality professionals chart their course for recovery in the aftermath of COVID-19. Together, we conducted surveys and interviews with dozens of global industry experts and leveraged Amadeus’ internal expertise to compile specific, actionable ways to build and execute recovery plans across marketing, sales, revenue management, and operations.
