The Perfect Partnership: Oceania Hotels and Amadeus’ Black Friday Triumph

Oceania Hotels, a family-run company founded in 1975 in Brittany, France, revitalizes both new and existing properties into captivating and memorable destinations. Offering a range of stylish 3- and 4-star hotels throughout France, Oceania Hotels is committed to providing exceptional service and creating unique experiences for its guests.

THE CHALLENGE

In 2024, the prominent hotel chain was on a mission to boost direct business without compromising its nightly rates. Oceania Hotels knew that a well-executed Black Friday promotional campaign could be the key to achieving this goal.

The challenge was to manage the campaign efficiently while ensuring it reached and engaged its most loyal and potential customers – families, repeat guests and locals – while being executed by just one person across all 31 properties. The hotel chain needed to increase bookings without lowering its nightly rates, all while running a campaign with minimal effort but maximum impact. To overcome these hurdles, precise targeting was crucial, ensuring the campaign reached the right audience and delivered meaningful results.

THE SOLUTION

Oceania Hotels turned to the integrated capabilities of Amadeus’ iHotelier® Suite for help – specifically, the iHotelier Booking Engine, Guest Management Solutions (GMS), Website Solutions, and Digital Media. These tools enabled it to create an exclusive Black Friday promotional campaign offering a 25% discount on bookings and a 30% discount for bookings of at least two nights to encourage longer visits, with additional add-ons available to allow for more tailored, personalized packages. Each campaign element was crafted with a luxurious design to showcase the brand’s identity and help it stand out from the crowd.

To further entice guests, the campaign included perks such as a $20 gift card for the in-house restaurant and bar, and free parking – a highly coveted perk in downtown areas. To kickstart its campaign, Oceania Hotels sent a “Coming Soon” teaser email to build anticipation, followed by a formal Black Friday email. Using GMS workflows, the hotel chain sent automated follow-up emails to reengage recipients who hadn’t booked within 8 days of the initial offer.

At the same time, Oceania Hotels placed prominent pop-up banners on its website to inform visitors of the limited Black Friday deal. To further highlight the offer, the chain utilized iHotelier’s advanced promotion capabilities to add eye-catching callouts and sales tags on the booking engine accommodations page. To reach an even broader audience, it promoted the offer on Google and various social media platforms, driving traffic to a dedicated landing page that highlighted the promotion.

The multi-channel approach ensured that the campaign reached a wide audience and maximized engagement. By leveraging Amadeus’ insights and technology, Oceania Hotels was able to better merchandise its offers, inspire both new and repeat customers, and generate over €132,000 in revenue.

THE IMPACT

The results of the Black Friday email campaign were truly impressive. The campaign achieved over 660 direct bookings and more than 1,680 room nights over the course of the campaign from November 4th through December 19th.

Oceania Hotels valued the seamless integration and tools from the iHotelier Suite, which helped it create a unified Black Friday campaign with consistent branding and wider reach.

RESULTS

By utilizing Amadeus’ iHotelier Suite, Oceania Hotels successfully executed a highly efficient and impactful Black Friday promotional campaign. These tools enabled the chain to showcase its offers seamlessly and effectively, ensuring a consistent brand experience across multiple platforms. This highlights the power of targeted marketing and innovative solutions in achieving business goals, demonstrating how Amadeus’ technology can lead to remarkable success.

AWARD RECOGNITION

Oceania Hotels’ outstanding efforts did not go unnoticed. The campaign, titled “Amadeus Hospitality and Oceania Hotels | Black Friday: Achieving More with Less,” won a 2025 Internet Advertising Competition Award for “Outstanding Integrated Ad Campaign.” This recognition highlights the strong collaboration between Oceania Hotels and Amadeus, demonstrating how creative solutions and strategic teamwork can lead to remarkable success.
